Few things transform a garden more quickly or more dramatically than a fresh new lawn. If your existing grass has gone patchy, mossy, lumpy or simply tired-looking, professionally laid turf gives you a thick, healthy lawn in a fraction of the time it would take to grow one from seed. At Cheltenham Landscaping & Building Services Ltd, we lay premium-quality turf for homeowners right across Cheltenham, getting the groundwork properly sorted before the rolls go down so the finished lawn knits in evenly and roots quickly.
Our process is thorough rather than rushed. The old grass comes out cleanly, the soil is checked, levelled and improved where it’s needed, and the area is rolled flat before any new turf is laid. Whether we’re laying a small lawn for a townhouse near the centre or a much larger one for a family home in the suburbs, the same care goes into every job – so the finished result looks lush from day one and stays that way.

We supply and lay premium-grade turf onto fully prepared ground, giving you a clean, even finish that establishes quickly and stands up to family life.
Good turf needs a good base. We strip out the old lawn, clear any debris, level out lumps and dips, and create the perfect surface for the fresh turf to take root on.
If your existing soil is heavy clay, full of stones, or simply too poor to support a healthy lawn, we can bring in fresh, screened topsoil and re-grade the area completely before turfing.
For smaller problem zones – worn-out trampoline patches, pet damage, dead spots near trees – we can carry out targeted repairs and re-turf just the affected areas.
If your lawn is truly past saving, we can strip the whole thing out, properly prepare the ground from scratch and install a brand-new lawn that gives the garden a complete refresh.
We only lay top-quality, freshly cut turf – the kind that roots fast, knits in tightly and gives you a thick, healthy lawn rather than thin, patchy results.
Half the work of laying a good lawn happens before the turf even arrives. We level, compact and prepare the soil thoroughly so the new lawn settles evenly and looks great long-term.

Most newly laid turf will start rooting into the soil within a couple of weeks, and after three to four weeks it should feel firmly established underfoot. Keeping it well-watered during this period is the single most important thing you can do.
Generally, you can give the lawn its first light mow about two to three weeks after laying, once the turf has started to root in. We'll always advise on the best timing for your specific install before we leave.
Yes – stripping out the old grass and clearing the area is included as part of the job. All the waste is taken away with us so the new lawn is laid onto properly prepared, clean ground.
Absolutely – in fact, levelling out uneven ground is a normal part of what we do before turfing. We can add or remove topsoil, regrade the area and create a smooth, even surface ready for the new lawn.
Just give us a quick call or send a message. We'll arrange to come round at a time that works for you, measure up the area and put together a clear, written quote with no obligation.
